The Session Band is one of those rare groups who are equally skilled performing Dixie Jazz, Swing, Modern, Latin, Rock and Country genre.

Join Peter Uppman (trumpet & vocals), Russell Bayne (guitar), Jo Bloomfield (piano), Pat Robbins (drums & vocals) and their very special guest Paul Williams (saxophone & clarinet).

About the Band: 

PETER UPPMAN Trumpet / Vocals.  Peter has a multi award-winning style that is instantly recognisable, receiving accolades for his work as a world-class trumpeter, singer, songwriter and entertainer. A professional performer of more than 36 years, Peter has a massive repertoire encompassing all styles of jazz, rock, pop, country and Latin. He also possesses the unique ability to communicate with his audience; utilising humour combined with superb musicianship.

PAUL WILLIAMS Saxophone & Clarinet.  Born in London, Paul turned professional in 1965 and toured England and Europe for eighteen months then spent a further eighteen months in Greece and Turkey playing on American basses then played for 12 months on cruise ships between England and Australia before settling in Sydney in 1972.  He has played for artists such as Isaac Hayes, Cilla Black, Al Martino, Gene Pitney and with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra backing Linda Ronstadt.  Paul Williams, the master musician and local Gentleman of Jazz.

JO BLOOMFIELD Piano.  Jo is a highly skilled and sought after talent within Australia. She has worked with dozens of internationally acclaimed performers and possesses an extraordinary ability to play superb keyboard Bass as well as piano. An unrivalled lady of Boogie Woogie and early Jazz styles, yet equally accomplished performing all types of Jazz, Classical, Latin and Pop/Rock genres.

PAT ROBBINS Drums.  Pat has decades of professional experience as a drummer, vocalist, recording artist and teacher and has performed/toured with many internationally acclaimed acts including John Farnham, Normie Rowe, John Rowles, Debbie Byrne and many others. He has appeared many times on television, performed on hundreds of advertising ‘jingles’ and has also worked as an actor, stand-up comedian and television newsreader.

RUSSELL BAYNE Guitar.  Russell would be one of the most versatile guitarists in this country. He has a wealth of experience from working with many overseas and local artists of international standard including Chuck Berry, Jerry Lewis, Shirley Bassey, The Monkeys, Pavarotti and local greats such as James Morrison and Don Burrows.

To enjoy your concert experience here are a few things to know: 

• The Majestic Theatre offers a full bar service and some light snacks such as chocolates and crisps.
• Seating is at allocated tables with chairs and some chairs at the back of the room without tables.
• You are welcome to bring your own snacks but please note this is a licensed venue and bringing alcohol is not permitted. 
• There are seats in the Mezzanine area upstairs and if booking this area please note that there is no lift for upstairs access.
